Body Wraps For Inch Loss

inch loss body wrapBody wraps have now long been touted as a method for not only losing weight, but as quick reduction methods to shed inches from waist lines. They come in a variety of different options to treat anything from eczema to eliminate toxins from the body, and even tighten and improve skin tone. There has developed however, a range of opinions as to whether body wraps actually work or not, and whether or not they are in fact, even healthy for individuals to attempt.

Many salons that offer body wraps that claim they can take a anywhere from 6 to as many as 20 inches off your waist line and body in one sitting. The procedure is relatively a simple one and is done through special minerals, clays, salts, and muds that are applied to the body, which is then wrapped up and usually left to soak.

While different wraps may require different sitting times, the average wait times is approximately one hour in most salons and spas. After applying the mixture, the individual is often laid down on a table, and wrapped snuggly and comfortably in a thermal blanket. This is thought to allow a person to “sweat out” the toxins and other impurities in the body. Many individuals claim to lose inches from their waist, thighs, and sometimes calves and arms as well. They also claim to have better skin tone, with the added benefit of softer skin as well. Some individuals claim to feel better, lighter, and even more energetic after applying body wraps.

However, some people purport that such body wraps can indeed be harmful to one’s health. It is commonly thought that logically, as fat is not water soluble, that fat is not indeed what is being lost by using a body wrap. It is theorized by means of logical deduction, that what is being lost rather, is water weight, and that this is accomplished by dehydrating the body. If this were the case, the process of body wrapping could indeed be harmful to those that are highly susceptible to complications due to dehydration, such as the very young, elderly, and those with certain medical conditions.

However, for those of young adulthood, or middle age, aside from purportedly being a “taxing” method of weightloss on the body, there does not appear to be any noticeable long term health concerns. One should however, be very careful to observe how the claimed inches were measured. Many testimonials, such as the one written online by Ronita Dutta, documenting her own experience

( http://www.ivillage.co.uk/beauty/bodybasics/cellulite/articles/0,,548152_551143,00.html ) note that while many inches were in fact lost during the body wrap, the total is a combination of all the inches lost from the entire body, not just the waist line.

In addition to being a highly effective, though controversial method of weight loss, wraps are also highly available. Most salons and spas offer such treatments, and the treatments themselves range from approximately $80 and up. However, if you are unable to afford regular wrap treatments, and have found that they work well for you, you can find do-it-yourself body wrap kits available here.

3 Tips To Maximize Your Body Wrap Results

In order to get the most out of your body wrap, there are a few important tips that you need to follow.  In this post, I will outline three things that you should do before your next treatment.  I promise that if you follow these three steps you will see great results!

#1 – Select The Right Herbal Ingredients

The body wrap ingredients in your solution are a very important aspect of a successful treatment.  The top spa’s and salons use organic herbs and the most potent sea clay’s.  Be sure to buy your ingredients from a trusted source, and make sure that you carefully read the ingredient lists so that you know exactly what you are buying.  Whenever possible, try to choose products with the least amount of preservatives in them, or better yet, make your own recipes from home.

#2 – Increase Your Water Intake

Hydration is an important aspect of a successful body wrap that is often overlooked.  Try to increase your water intake a few days before your treatment.  By ensuring that you body stays adequately hydrated, you will ensure that the body is able to flush impurities out and allow you fully detoxify.

#3 – Wrap Consistently

Although you may see results after your first body wrap, you should really perform a series of treatments in order to see significant results.  This partly due to the detoxifying properties of the body wraps, which take some time.  Instead of performing only one or two body wraps, aim for eight to ten, spread out over a series of weeks

In addition to the three tips above, I always feel that it is necessary to mention the importance of regular physical activity and a healthy diet.  So many people think that they don’t have to exercise and can essentially eat whatever they want while body wrapping, and they will still get results.  Yes, they might get some results, but the treatment will not live up to anywhere near their potential this way.

Whether you are visiting the spa or performing your own body wrap from home, the tips mentioned above will help you achieve excellent results during your next body wrap treatment.

If you are considering trying your own home body wrap treatment, please stop by the body wrap shop to order your herbal body wrap supplies, or order a body wrap kit that includes everything you need to get started right away.

The Top 3 Herbal Body Wrap Myths

There are plenty of myths about herbal body wraps out there.  I’m constantly getting questions from customers asking me if things that they are reading about body wrap treatments are true or not.  I am amazed at some of the crazy questions I get!

In this post I’d like to outline and dispel three of the most common body wrap myths.

So let’s begin…

1 – You Can Eat Anything You Want While Body Wrapping

In order to get amazing results, you have to eat well no matter how many body wraps you are getting.  Simply put, a body wrap can’t replace a healthy diet.  In order to lose inches and detoxify your body, you have to make sure you take care of yourself.  It’s time to ditch the packaged foods if you are still consuming them and replace them with plenty of high quality vegetables and fruits, and organic meat.  If you eat a healthy low calorie diet and be active, and I promise that you will experience great results!

2 – You Don’t Need To Exercise While Body Wrapping

Herbal body wraps are a great way to tone your skin, but exercises is still important if you want to see jaw-dropping results.  Excessive exercise isn’t necessary.  Aim for resistance tube and body weight exercises a couple times a week, and aerobic activity at least three days.  The duration of your aerobic workouts will depend on intensity (harder = shorter duration).   Simply put, regular exercises should always be included as a part of your body wrap regimen if you want to get the most out of each treatment.

3 – You Only Need One Body Wrap Treatment

Although most people will see some results after their first body wrap session, I highly recommend a series of 3-10 body wraps over a 1 month period.  Depending on a number of factors, you may need at least three treatments to maximize your inch loss.  Those of you that also want to detoxify the body will want to perform a minimum of 8-10 wraps.

I hope this clears up some of the common body wrap myths out there.  If you want to see amazing results, pick up a high quality herbal body wrap kit, eat a balanced diet, exercise often, and aim for a series of treatments as opposed to one.

Benefits Of Resistance Training For Women

For years I had an extreme aversion to resistance training. These were some of my beliefs:

  • It’s for menwoman lifting weights
  • It will make me bulk up
  • It’s too hard
  • It’s not good for woman
  • It’s boring!
  • It doesn’t burn fat, cardio does.

I’m sure you can add a few of your own beliefs of resistance training to this list.

The truth of the matter is that resistance training plays an important role in your overall health no matter you’re your age or current level of fitness.

Within the past year, I have experienced a number of benefits to resistance training that should not be overlooked.

I am approaching my mid 30’s and I have noticed that it has become easier for me to gain weight since I have turned 30…  Let’s face it, although in my twenties my weight fluctuated a few times. My weight has been as high as 160 pounds on a 5’1 frame. But I didn’t have too hard of a time losing the weight.  In my thirties it seems a little harder. I don’t even want to think about the 40’s and 50’s…

This past year I weight trained two times a week for two months, and it was one of the hardest yet most rewarding things that I have ever done. I have always secretly wanted an athletic body, so this was my goal from day one.

I was always intimidated by the weight machines at the gym so I finally bit the bullet and consulted a trainer to teach me how to properly perform some of the most effective full body resistance exercises.  In addition to my training sessions I also studies a number of resistance training manuals.

After about a month and a half I was feeling better than ever.  I was stronger, looked much fitter, and quite possibly the best benefit was that I increased my resting metabolism!

I’m sure you have heard that it requires more energy (calories) to maintain muscle than it does to maintain fat…  Well, it’s true!!

After about 2 months I slacked off for about a month with my exercise routine and I did not gain a pound!! In fact I lost 3!

The bottom line is that resistance training is essential for everyone, no matter what your goals are.  It will help improve your strength, bone integrity, and ultimately help you maintain a healthier body composition.  Combining resistance training with a diet and weight loss body wrap regimen is a lethal combination.

If you have never resistance trained before there is no need to be intimidated.  Grab an exercise ball and a few resistance bands and you can get started at home.  Now get out there and do it!

Homemade Body Wraps Explained

homemade body wrapWhether for cellulite reduction, body detox, or inch loss, homemade body wraps have become very popular these days. Spas charge a considerable amount of money to perform a full body wrap, but they are simple to do at home for a fraction of the price.
And best of all-they work very well!

The body wrap ingredients in a homemade treatment are all-natural, and safe to use. Here is a list of some of the benefits of a homemade body wrap:

How To Prepare A Homemade Body Wrap

More Homemade Body Wrap Tips

  • Remember, body wraps work by infusing minerals through the skin and by breaking down fat cells for elimination.  In order to get rid of the fat, the body needs plenty of water to help “flush” it out of the system.  Drink water, and lots of it each day.
  • It’s always a good idea to stay hydrated during your body wrap treatment, so keep a glass of water near-by.
  • Take a hot bath on the second or third day after your treatment to help open the pores and release accumulated toxins from the skin.
  • If inch loss is your goal,  take body measurements before and after your treatment so that you can track your results.
  • Regular exercise and a sensible diet will help naturally decrease body fat and reduce body toxins. Try to avoid smoking, alcohol and any sugar or refined wheat products.

Tips For Losing Waist Inches

thin waistIn order to lose waist inches you shouldn’t rely on one single method.  There are a number of different tactics that you can use which I will outline in this article, and I recommend that you use all of them!

The first thing to remember before you attempt to lose waist inches is that this area of the body is often stubborn.  The body does not want to get rid of the fat in this area, and it will often be one of the last areas that the body uses as fuel when losing weight.

So now a little more about what you need to do…

Try These Tips To Lose Waist Inches

I always recommend combining all three of these tactics will help you lose waist inches quickly.

Diet Management

Modifying your diet is one of the easiest ways to force your body to burn excess body fat as energy.  What you need to do is not only restrict the number of calories that you consume, but you also must eat only those foods that are healthy.  Aim for a low carbohydrate diet that is high in healthy fats, and moderate in protein intake.

Exercise

Physical exercise is another way to help encourage your body to burn excess body fat that you store around the waist as energy.  Be as active as possible, for a total of at least 2-3 hours a week.  The exercise that you perform does not needs to be high intensity/high impact.  Brisk walking will do the trick as long as you are consistent.

Adding some body weight exercises for resistance is also a very powerful method, as it will help improve overall muscle tone and increase you metabolic rate.  In addition, resistance exercise will help you maintain muscle tissue that you might lose while on a low calorie diet.

Herbal Body Wraps

An herbal inch loss body wrap on the stomach area is perhaps the fastest and easiest way to lose waist inches.  You can literally lose 1-5 inches withing about one hour using this method.  Combining this with a healthy diet and consistent weight loss routine and you will see fast, effective results.

Putting It All Together

By combining healthy lifestyle habits with a stomach wrap treatment, you will lose waist inches very quickly and safely.  Keep in mind that when exercising, you cannot spot reduce.  This means that no you will not burn more stomach fat by performing more abdominal exercises!

The Definitive Guide To Body Wrap Supplies

mix of supplies for body wrapsIf you are ready to try a home body wrap treatment, purchasing the right body wrap supplies are essential.  No matter whether your goals are to lose inches, detoxify the body, or simply improve your skin, choosing high quality supplies is very important.

In this “definitive guide” to body wrap supplies, I will outline everything that you need to know about body wrap supplies including:

  • Which supplies you need
  • How to use them
  • Where to find them

If this is your first body wrap treatment from home, you can use this post as a checklist to ensure that you don’t miss any of the essential components to an effective treatment.

So let’s begin…

What Body Wrap Supplies Do I Need To Get Started?

In order to be effective, a body wrap treatment can be very simple.  With that being said, there are a number of “essential” body wrap supplies that you will need in order to make your own home treatment.

The supplies that you will need include the following:herb powder

  1. Exfoliating products
  2. Body wrapping bandages
  3. Body wrap formula
  4. Sauna suit

Now, a little more detail on each of these “essential” body wrap supplies…

Exfoliating Products

Before you begin your body wrap treatment, it’s important that you condition your skin.  This will open the pores of your skin and allow it to absorb the nutrients from your body wrap formula.  Although an application of exfoliating cream will work, generally the easiest method is to use a dry skin brush and gently rub it on the skin in a circular motion.

Body Wrapping Bandages

Also know as “ACE” bandages, these are the same types of compression bandages used to wrap muscle and ligament injuries.  Although towels can be used, body wrap bandages offer the added benefit of compression.  They can be re-used many times and simply placed in the washing machine after use.

Body Wrap Formula

The body wrap formula that you apply to your skin is a very important.  You may choose to use a clay based formula that is applied to the skin as a thick paste, or a liquid formula that your body wrap bandages are soaked in before being applied to the skin.

For more information about body wrap formula’s, read the following articles:bentonite clay for body wraps

Sauna Suit

The sauna suit or “sweat suit” is a plastic body suit used to trap in body heat and promote sweating.  Alternatively, one can use a bath robe or baggy sweat pants and a long sleeved sweat shirt, however, expect things to get messy!

Where Can I Find Body Wrap Supplies?

Most drug stores will carry the exfoliating products and compression bandages.  Where it get’s a little trickier is finding all of the ingredients needed for an effective body wrap formula.  Although health food stores often do carry a decent selection of essential oils that can be used, you will need either a clay or liquid herbal formula such as Aloe Vera which can be more difficult to find.

Fortunately we offer wholesale prices on all body wrap supplies, including all types of clay and liquid formula.

Remedies For Stretch Marks

stretch mark stomachAre you ready to get rid of your stretch marks once and for all?  The stretch mark remedies outlined in this post are easy to implement at home, and most importantly really work!
Before I outline ways to remove stretch marks, it’s important that you understand their causes, which I will outline first…

What Causes Stretch Marks?

There are a few common causes for stretch marks.  Your skin type does play a role here, since certain types of skin are much more resilient than others (thanks mom and dad!).

Stretch marks occur when the the skin is stretched beyond it’s limits, causing minute tears in the tissue.  This causes scar tissue to develop, which is a different color than the surrounding skin.

The most common cause of stretch marks in the teen years is growth spurts.  These stretch marks often occur around the lower back, buttocks and breasts.

Fast weight gain is another common cause of later in life, and can be caused by either gaining excessive amounts of body fat or muscle mass.

Pregnancy is another common cause of stretch marks particularly around the belly button and the sides of the stomach.

So now that you understand a little more about the cause of stretch marks, let’s take a look at some of the best home remedies for stretch marks…

The Home Remedies

Since stretch marks are scar tissue, there is no way to “remove” them.  However, we can alter their appearance so that they blend in with the surrounding skin more naturally.

Here are things that you can do at home to help improve your stretch marks:

  1. Take Supplements – Antioxidants such as Vitamin E are particularly good for the skin, and can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks.  Fish oil supplements can also help as the Omega 3 fatty acids they contain are very powerful.
  2. Skin Massage – Massaging your stretch marks with Vitamin E is another excellent method.  The combination of this powerful antioxidant and the increased blood flow to the area is likely why massage works well.
  3. Body Wraps – Herbal body wraps are a fantastic treatment for the skin, and with the right ingredients can be an excellent way to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Most importantly, don’t get discouraged.  If you follow the steps mentioned above, your stretch marks will begin to disappear over time.

If you would like to try a body wrap to help eliminate the appearance of your stretch marks, please order one of our body wrap kits.
