How To Lose Thigh Fat – Tips For Slim, Sexy Legs

Are you trying to figure out how to lose thigh fat?  Well, fortunately it isn’t rocket science, and losing thigh fat quickly is relatively easy if you do it the right way.

But first, I’d like to outline the wrong way to lose thigh fat…

What You Should Not Do To Lose Thigh Fat

  1. Lots of leg resistance exercises – In order to lose thigh fat, resistance exercises won’t help.  I’m not recommending that you do no leg exercises at all, but inner and outter thigh machines are useless.  Stick to body weight lunges or squats, or if that is not challenging enough a light weight that you can perform 15-20 repetitions of.  Too much leg work will increase muscle mass in your thighs and make them look larger.
  2. Use Diet Pills – Diet pills will not help you reduce thigh fat.  Don’t bother using any sort of supplement that promises you unrealistic fat loss results.
  3. Buy Thigh Exercise Machines – We’ve all seen these things on infomercials… Those ridiculous looking machines that promise you will lose thigh fat overnight if you follow a few simple exercises.  Don’t waste your money on any of these products, they will not help you lose thigh fat!

What You Should Do To Lose Thigh Fat

  1. Diet – In order to reduce thigh fat you have to eat a sensible, calorie restricted diet. Eliminate high calories foods that you don’t need to eat, and only consume whole foods.  If it comes in a package, don’t eat it!
  2. Exercise – You need to exercise to lose overall body fat.  As your overall body fat percentage goes down, you will naturally begin to lose your thigh fat.  Aim for 4-5 sixty minute aerobic training sessions each week.  Two days of light resistance exercises is also a good idea to help maintain muscle mass.

And my “secret weapon” for losing thigh fat is…

Herbal Thigh Wraps!

An herbal thigh wrap is essentially the same as a spa body wrap, but the different is that you only wrap your upper legs as opposed to your entire body.  Thigh wraps will help you lose inches off your thighs immediately by draining impurities that build up in the lymphatic system.  They will also help improve circulation and make the body more efficient at burning body fat and removing waste impurities from the body.

The great thing is that performing thigh wraps from home is quite easy, even if you have never done it before.

Here’s how to do it…

1 – The first step involves applying body wrap sea clay or an herbal body wrap formula to the thighs.  Be sure to apply it evenly, all over the thighs.

2 – Next, wrap your thighs with body wrap bandages from above the knee to the hip.

3- Now, put on a pair of sweat pants and perform some exercise, or sit back and relax somewhere that is warm.

After 45-60min you can remove the body wrap bandages and rinse the solution.  For best results, aim for three thigh wraps with one day in between each wrap.  You may also want to take measurements of your thighs before and after your thigh wrap to track results.

Thigh wraps really will help you lose thigh inches, and ultimately lose thigh fat!

Make A Body Wrap – Here’s How!

If you are interested in learning how to make a body wrap that will help shed inches, tighten loose skin, and detoxify your body,  then read on!  I don’t like to “toot my own horn” but I like to think of myself as sort of a body wrap guru

But first…

Before you begin making a body wrap, there are some things you will need.  Some of the things can be found around your house, while others will have to be purchased either online or at a local health store.

What You’ll Need to Make a Body Wrap:

You will need a number of things before you get started making your own body wrap.

Here is a list of exactly what you need:

Ingredients

sea-clay-kit

In order to make an effective home body wrap you will need a body wrap solution to apply to your skin before you wrap yourself.  These ingredients are becoming easier and easier to find online and at local health food stores.

The best ingredients to start with are:

  1. Body wrap clay – Clay is a little messy, but if your goal is to lose inches then it is a must.  There are different types of body wrap clay including dry mineral clay, sea clay, and seaweed mud clay.
  2. Herbal liquidHerbal liquid formula is fantastic on it’s own to help improve the skin and detoxify the body.  It can also be added to your clay to maximize the benefits of your body wrap.
  3. Liquid Aloe Vera – Pure Aloe Vera is a great for body detoxification, and is know for being extremely good for the skin.  Aloe Vera liquid can be used alone, or added to your clay.

Important! Although you can combine all of these ingredient together to make a “super solution”, using only clay, herbal liquid or Aloe Vera alone will work fine for your body wraps.

Optionally, you can add some essential oils to your body wrap solution but that is optional.  The body wrap ingredients that I sell have essential oils in them already, and you will find this quite common depending on where you shop.

Next,  you will need some accessories to allow you to perform your wrap.

In addition to the ingredients, you will need some body wrap accessories in order to make your body wraps.  Nothing too crazy here so don’t worry…

  1. Large pot to fill with boiling water
  2. Dry skin brush
  3. Robe and/or large blanket
  4. Body wrap bandages
  5. Access to a shower / bath

Optional Accessories:

  1. Body wrap warming oven
  2. Sauna suit

Once you have your desired body wrap ingredients along with the accessories, you are ready to start your wrap!

Making Your Body Wrap:  Step-By-Step Instructions

Now that you have everything you need to make your home body wrap, you can finally begin!

Step 1: Prepare your skin for the body wrap.  The best way to do this is to use a dry skin brush to exfoliate.  This will help open the pores in your skin allowing the body wrap ingredients to penetrate deeply.

Step 2: Fill a large pot with water and heat it.  If you are using an herbal liquid body wrap solution or Aloe Very as opposed to clay, then you will actually use this pot to head the solution.  If using a clay, then fill this pot with water.

Step 2 (if using clay based formula): Begin to apply the body wrap solution to your skin starting from your legs and working your way upwards.

Step 2 (if using liquid based formula): Dip your body wrapping bandages in your heated liquid solution allowing the formula to absorb into them.

Step 3: Begin to apply the wraps to your body, starting from the ankles upwards.  Wrap slowly, making sure that the body wraps are tight, but not so tight that they hinder circulation.

Step 4: Find a warm relaxing place to sit for 45-60 minutes.  The bathtub is a great place.  Apply a robe, blanket, or wear a sauna suit and lie down and relax!  Peaceful music and aroma therapy will help calm you.

Step 5: After 54-60 min, slowly remove the body wrap bandages.  Be sure to move slowly as you might feel light headed at this point.  Once the wrapping bandages are removed, you can take a warm shower or bath to remove the body wrap solution from your skin.

Step 6: Apply a post body wrap moisturizer to your skin after your shower or bath.  This will make your skin feel silky smooth!

Stretch Marks Home Remedies – Get Results!

Before you spend a cent on expensive creams, let me show you some stretch mark home remedies that are easy, and really work!

First of all, if you are trying to figure out how to get rid of those pesky stretch marks, then you’re not alone. Most women get stretch marks at some point in their life, whether early or later on.

Some skin types are much more prone to stretch marks than others, and like most things in life, genetics play the main role here.

Causes of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are most commonly caused by one of the following:

  • Growth spurts – Teenagers commonly get stretch marks during periods of rapid growth.  These stretch marks are usually most prominent in the breasts, buttocks, thighs and lower back.
  • Rapid weight gain (muscle or fat)  - Gaining muscle or fat too quickly can also cause stretch marks virtually anywhere on the body.
  • Pregnancy – Many women get stretch marks on their their stomach after pregnancy.

In each case, the actual cause of stretch marks is due to the skin expanding so rapidly that it causes trauma.  The trauma to the skin results in scar tissue, which appear initially as reddish lines which usually turn white later.

Home Remedies for Stretch Marks

Although once a stretch mark has developed it will technically always be there, there are a number of home remedies that will reduce the appearance of the mark, and it may appear as if it has disappeared.

Here is a list of the best home stretch mark remedies.  I am confident that at the very least they will drastically reduce the appearance of your stretch marks.

  1. Diet – Take a multi-vitamin supplement, and a separate Vitamin E capsule.  Vitamin E is excellent for the skin and will help promote repair.
  2. Massage – Massage your stretch marks with vitamin E cream or cocoa butter.  Some believe that the actual ingredients in these two substances help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, while others believe that it’s the actual massaging motion that helps increase blood flow the the skin thus reducing the appearance of scaring.
  3. Herbal Body Wraps – With the right herbal ingredients a body wrap can be a very effective way to eliminate stretch  marks.  The key is using the right combination of herbs and essential oils.
In my ebook “Wrap Yourself Slim:  Body Wraps Exposed” I have some great home body wrap recipes that will help you get rid of your stretch marks once and for all!

Body Wrap Formula – The Best Ingredients for Results

A body wrap formula that consists of the right ingredients can work wonders, whether your goal is to lose inches, detoxify your body, or improve the look and feel of your skin.

There are many effective ingredients that you can use in an herbal body wrap formula.  The ones that you choose will depend on the actual goals you are trying to achieve.

Below is a list of the most powerful ingredients that can be used in a body wrap formula.  Try to experiment with each of these ingredients and figure out which ones work best for your bode.

Top Body Wrap Formula Ingredients

Below are what I consider five very powerful body wrap formula ingredients.  They are all easy to find at local health food stores or online.

  1. Bladderwrack – This is a type of algae that is highly nutritious and is particularly beneficial to the skin.  If the main goal of your body wrap formula is to improve the skin or reduce the appearance of cellulite, then this this ingredient is a must.
  2. Echinacia – A powerful herb well know for it’s ability to boost the body’s immune system.  It also helps improve circulation, stimulates the lymph glands, and is has strong detoxifying properties.  This is an excellent herb to use in weight loss body wrap formulas.
  3. Ginger – Excellent healing properties, helps reduce joint and muscle pain.
  4. Red Clover – A strong blood purifier, excellent for body detoxification.
  5. Kelp – This powerful seaweed helps accelerate weight loss, ease joint and muscle pain and soften the skin.  Perhaps one of the most versatile body wrap formula ingredients around.
Those are just a handful of very powerful herbs that can be added to your body wrapping formula.  In addition to these herbs, I also highly recommend these ingredients:
  • Aloe Vera - Has very strong detoxifying properties and is one of the best herbs to help soften the skin.  Aloe also helps increase the absorption of other nutrients into the skin.  Aloe Vera is the preferred base of a skin or detoxifying wrap.
  • Sea or mineral salt – High in minerals and iodine, has benefits similar to kelp and other seaweeds.  Well recognized for it’s ability to remove toxins from the body.
I highly recommend that you experiment with some of these herbal ingredients in your next body wrap formula!

Body Mud Wraps – Time to Get Muddy!

Have you ever tried a body mud wrap?  They have been becoming a very popular treatment as of late, not only in the spa but at home.  Although they are a rather “messy” treatment, body mud wraps are a fun treatment that have many benefits some of which include:

  • Relaxation
  • Pain relief
  • Improved skin tone
  • Body slimming
  • Detoxification

Now don’t get a body mud wrap confused with a mud bath, because they are two completely different spa treatments.  The body mud wrap is a treatment where a sea mud or body wrap clay is applied to the entire body and you are wrapped in hot bandages or cloths.

A body mud bath on the other hand is a bath of hot mud that you are submerged in for a period of time.  There are also a similar benefits to mud baths, but that is something to discuss in another article!

Spa Body Mud Wrap Tips

Here are a few tips if you have decided to have a body mud wrap at the spa…

  1. Before your mud wrap, sit in the steam room or sauna to help open up the pores of your skin.  This will ensure that your body sucks up as many nutrients out of the mud as possible.
  2. Drink plenty of water the day of your mud wrap.  Since you will sweat quite a bit during the procedure it is important that you are well hydrated.
  3. Make sure that you apply skin cream after the mud wrap.  Most spa’s will apply this for you.  This will leave your skin looking and feeling softer than ever!

Home Body Mud Wrap Tips

If you’ve decided to perform a body mud wrap at home, here are some helpful tips:

  1. Exfoliate your skin, and take a warm shower before the wrap to open the pores.
  2. Depending on your goals (inch loss, cellulite reduction, weigh loss etc.) consider adding essential oils to significantly enhance the results of your wrap.
  3. Perform your wrap in your bathtub to avoid a mess!
  4. Apply a post body wrap formula to hydrate the skin after your mud wrap.

Make Skin Soft – How to Naturally Soften the Skin

Are you ready to say goodbye to your rough, dry skin once and for all?  In this article I’m going to share some very effective tips that will make your skin soft!

Those of us that were born with non oily skin often suffer from dry, rough skin-especially during the winter months.  Even if you have oily skin, being exposed to cold weather and wind can quickly dehydrate your skin and couse it to look and feel rough.

Fortunately, there are a number of relatively easy steps you can take to keep your skin soft an smooth…

Top Ways to Make your Skin Soft

Here are five things you can do to keep your skin looking and feeling as soft and smooth as possible.  Be sure that you follow these techniques consistently for best results!

  1. Moisturize – This is probably the most obvious method to keep your skin soft.  It’s important to moisturize your skin once (preferably twice) daily.  Make sure you always apply moisturizer after you step out of the bath or shower, since the water will quickly dehydrate your skin.  Want to try something new?  Make your own homeade skin cream
  2. Use Bath Oil – Whenever you take a bath, be sure to add oil.  Oil will help condition your dry skin and keep the moisture in your skin.
  3. Drink Plenty of Water – Staying well hydrated is a simple way to make sure you body’s water levels do not become depleted.  Dehydration will quickly affect the look and feel of your skin in a negative way.
  4. Exfoliate your Skin - Exfoliating your skin helps remove dead skin cells, and will keep your skin much smoother by reducing rough patches that develop over time.  Be sure to exfoliate at least once a week.  A dry brush is a simply way to exfoliate.  Be sure to apply moisturizer after.
  5. Eat Omega 3 Fatty Acids – These beneficial oils found in certain plants and cold water fish species can be very beneficial to your skin.  They actually help the skin cells hold more water, and decrease the chance of them becoming dehydrated.  The easiest way to consume Omega 3′s is to either take a supplement, or consume fish such as salmon or trout at least once a week.

Tips to Maintaining Soft & Smooth Skin

Here are some tips that will help you maintain soft skint:

  • Skin Softening body wraps are a great way to keep your skin smooth and moist.
  • During the winter months, be sure to use a humidifier.  The more your furnace runs, the dryer the air in your home will be.  The humidity level should be around 50% for optimal skin.
  • When outside, be sure to cover your skin as much as possible.  Wind can damage the skin and will dry it out very quickly making it very rough.
  • Take short baths or showers, and make sure that the water temperature is not too hot as this will quickly dry your skin out.
  • After bathing, pat yourself dry instead of rubbing yourself with the towel.

Well there you have it.  I hope that these tips I’ve outlined help make your skin softer!  If you would like to learn more about skin softening body wraps, please Click Here to download my ebook “Wrap yourselfs Slim:  Body Wraps Exposed”.  I have some great skin softening body wrap recipes and techniques.

Formostar Wrap – What To Expect

Today I’d like to share some information with you about Formostar body wraps.  Quit a few people are searching for information about Formostar wraps, because they are not sure exactly what they are.

In this article I will explain exactly what the Formostar body wrap is, how it works, and if it is worth the cost.

What is a Formostar Wrap?

The formostar wrap is a type of Infrared body wrap that uses “deep heat” treatment to warm the skin and body.  Unlike traditional body wraps, there is no mud or liquid based formula applied to the skin, and in some cases you do not have to remove your clothes in order to have one.

During the Formostar wrap procedure, silicone wraps that contain heat filaments will be applied to the following areas of your body:

  • Chest
  • Stomach
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Targeted area of your choice (shoulders, arms or calves normally)

Once the wraps are applied the control unit does the rest, and begins heating the wraps.  You will be asked to lie down on a massage table during the procedure and can read a book or watch TV while your body heats up.

Each Formostar wrap session takes about an hour long and costs around $100-$120.

Here is a little more information about Formostar wraps directly off of their official website:

‘”The Formostar Far Infrared Body Wrap System is a deep heat treatment that utilises the body’s natural cooling process to stimulate the metabolism.  When heat is absorbed by the body on a continuous basis, the blood circulation is used to transport the excess heat as close as possible to the skin’s surface, inducing sweat, to help dissipate it into the cooler atmosphere.  Formostar utilises Far Infrared energy to produce this heat as it can be very efficiently abosrbed  by the body when generated around the 9.5 micron waveband.”

Foromostar claims that their wraps help aid in weight loss and provide pain relief.  Infrared body wraps certainly do work well to help with pain relief, because they heat the muscles and improve circulation.

When if comes to weight loss however, a traditional body wrap is a much better way to go.

The Benefits of Formostar Wraps

I personally prefer traditional homemade body wraps, but there are a couple of benefits to Formostar wraps compared to traditional wraps.

The main benefit is that they are less messy since there is no formula applied to your body.  Of course there is also a down side to this since the formula used in a traditional body wraps has many benefits for the body.

One other advantage of Formostar wraps over traditional body wraps is that they can be performed with your clothes on, making them more convenient.

Are Formostar Wraps Worth the Money?

At over $100 per session, formostar wraps are not cheap.  If your main goal pain relief, then they may be worth a try.

If you are trying to achieve any of the following goals, then I would recommend a homemade body wrap since they are more effective and much less expensive:

Homemade Skin Cream – Amazing Recipe!

If you are looking for a great homemade skin cream check this out… A few years ago I started making skin cream after I realized how easy it was.  The fact that it is inexpensive to make, uses organic ingredients and works amazingly well made me wonder why anyone considers purchasing the over priced chemical laded lotions!

If you have sensitive skin, homemade skin cream is the best way to go since you are in complete control of the ingredients.  You’d be surprised at how many chemicals even the name brand lotions have in them, and if you suffer from skin sensitivity they can play havoc with your skin.

Making Your Own Skin Cream

To make homemade skin cream you will begin with a base for your lotion.  The base will consist of three ingredients-water, oil and an emulsifier.  Never heard of an emulsifier?  It’s simply an ingredient that helps mix the water and oil.

Here are my favorite ingredients for a homemade skin cream base:

1/2 cup distilled water

1 TBS liquid lecithin

1/2 cup oil (You can use almond, olive, grape seed or macadamia nut oil)

Once you’ve made the base you can experiment by adding other ingredients such as essential oils and herbs.  You can also steep herbs into the water that you use as a base.  The possibilities are endless.

Winter Homemade Skin Cream Recipe

Below is a favorite homemade skin cream recipe for dry skin.  It is excellent for the winter months as it will help sooth and moisturize your dry skin.

1/2 cup distilled water

1/2 cup olive oil

1 TBS lecithin

6-8 drops of Geranium oil

2-4 drops of Myrrh oil

400 IU Vitamin E oil (1-2 open capsules)

Geranium oil helps improve balance and rejufenate dry skin (especially well with wrinkled / mature skin).  Myrrh is a delicate oil that is very good at replenishing moisture.

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and helps protect and nourish the skin.

Add all of the ingredients to a small blender and blend at the “whip” or “cream” setting.  For a lighter lotion you can add water as necessary.

Be sure to store the cream in a cool place to keep it fresh.

I hope you enjoy my homemade skin cream recipe and enjoy experimenting with your own concoctions.  If you are trying to improve the texture and appearance of your skin, you may want to try a body wrap.  Please Click Here to visit “Wrap Yourselfs Slim:  Body Wraps Exposed”, to learn about how your skin can benefit from homemade body wraps.

Healthy Body Cleanse – How to do it Right

If you haven’t been feeling like yourself lately, you  may be suffering the effects of excess toxic chemicals that have accumulated in your body over the years.  In many instances the first sign of excess toxin build up is a weak immune system, so if you have been getting sick more than usual lately it is time to evaluate your overall health and determine if toxins are the culprit.

These toxins that build up can play havoc on your entire body, and cause many negative symptoms ranging from sluggishness all the way to cardiovascular disease.

The good news is that a healthy body cleanse can help the body dispose of these excess toxins that have absorbed into the liver and other organs over many years of exposure to the chemicals commonly found in our environment.

So what is a healthy body cleanse?  It’s a healthy way of removing the toxins from your body using only safe and natural methods and organic ingredients.

Healthy Body Cleanse Tips

I like to keep body cleanses as simple as possible, as they really don’t need to be fancy in order to be effective.  As I mentioned in my article about home body detoxification, I always recommend a three step approach when it comes to a healthy body cleanse.

The three most important steps to a healthy body cleanse are:

Healthy Body Cleanse #1 – A Cleansing Diet

All body cleansing programs will require you to radically change your diet for a set period of time.  There are two common types of body cleansing diets-those that require you to fast (water or juice) for a set period of time, and those that allow certain detoxifying whole foods.

If you want to try a healthy body cleanse “fasting” diet, checkout “The Master Cleanse

If you don’t like the idea of eliminate all whole foods from your diet, then checkout Janet Hull’s Detoxification kit.

Healthy Body Cleanse #2 – Exercise!

Since sweating is a natural way to release toxins, it would only make sense to exercise regularly!  The exercise that you perform is not as important as the intensity and frequency.  Make sure you are exercising at least 5 days a week while on your body cleansing program at an intensity that make you sweat.

Healthy Body Cleanse #3 – Detoxifying Body Wraps

There are two purposes to detoxifying body wraps.  They will promote sweating to help rid the body of toxins, and also help release excess lymphatic fluids that store toxins.  Performing three body wraps each week during your body cleanse is a very effective way to accelerate the excretion of toxins.

There is no need to visit the spa for a body wrap, homemade body wraps work just as well!

The key to a successful healthy body cleanse is to be very commited and in the right mind set from the start.  You cannot cheat during your body cleanse, and by that I mean no sneaking snack foods, alcohol, cigarrettes etc.  you have to go completely clean in order for your cleanse to be really effective!

Thanks for reading my post.  I am confident that your healthy body cleanse will be extremely effective if you follow the steps I’ve outlined in this article!

Have you ever tried a body cleanse?  How did it work?
