Have you ever tried a body mud wrap? They have been becoming a very popular treatment as of late, not only in the spa but at home. Although they are a rather “messy” treatment, body mud wraps are a fun treatment that have many benefits some of which include:
- Relaxation
- Pain relief
- Improved skin tone
- Body slimming
- Detoxification
Now don’t get a body mud wrap confused with a mud bath, because they are two completely different spa treatments. The body mud wrap is a treatment where a sea mud or body wrap clay is applied to the entire body and you are wrapped in hot bandages or cloths.
A body mud bath on the other hand is a bath of hot mud that you are submerged in for a period of time. There are also a similar benefits to mud baths, but that is something to discuss in another article!
Spa Body Mud Wrap Tips
Here are a few tips if you have decided to have a body mud wrap at the spa…
- Before your mud wrap, sit in the steam room or sauna to help open up the pores of your skin. This will ensure that your body sucks up as many nutrients out of the mud as possible.
- Drink plenty of water the day of your mud wrap. Since you will sweat quite a bit during the procedure it is important that you are well hydrated.
- Make sure that you apply skin cream after the mud wrap. Most spa’s will apply this for you. This will leave your skin looking and feeling softer than ever!
