Have you ever wondered what ingredients are in a body wrap formula? Many people are simply curious after they’ve had a spa body wrap, while other would like to know the ingredients so they can make their own home body wrap recipe.
The truth of the matter is, there are many different ingredients that make up an effective body wrap formula. Certain combination of ingredients will work better for certain applications however.
For example, if the main goal of your body wrap is to achieve inch loss, the ingredients in your wrap will be different than someone who is primarily targeting detoxification.
Most body wraps consist of clay, essential oils, and various herbs.
Here are some of my favorite home body wrap ingredients:
Body Wrap Ingredients: Clays
- Bentonite clay
- Green clay
- Dead sea clay
Bentonite clay is by far the most versitile clay when it comes to home body wrapping recipes. It’s a great “all around” for all applications.
Body Wrap Ingredients: Essential Oils
- Lemon oil

- Grapefruit oil
- Cypress oil
- Juniper oil
Body Wrap Ingredients: Herbs
- Green tea
- Echinacea
- Bladderwrack
Green tea is a fabulous herb for all wrap recipes, especially weight loss wraps.
Other Body Wrap Ingredients:
- Aloe vera

- Emu oil
- Spirulina
There are endless possible combinations when it comes to home body wraps ingredients. Over the last ten years I’ve experimented and found a handful of body wrap recipes that work extremely well.
