How To Lose Cellulite

Anyone that has cellulite on their body wants to learn how to get rid of it.  Unfortunately cellulite can be very stubborn, and there really are no shortcuts to losing it.  Since figuring out just how to lose cellulite can be very frustrating, I’ve decided to share some great tips that I’ve discovered that will help reduce your cellulite. Remember, cellulite is not going to disappear overnight, but if you work at it you can see some really significant improvements over time.

What is Cellulite & Why do I Have it?

Cellulite is the appearance of dimpling or irregular bulging of the skin.  Some say that it resembles the look of “cottage cheese”.

Cellulite does not have to do with excess fat, so anyone that tells you that you need to exercise or diet to lose body fat in order to help you lose cellulite does not know what they are talking about.

Cellulite is caused by reduced connective-tissue movement in combination with poor circulation of the layers under your skin.

The bulging or dimpling of the skin is actually caused by a combination of built-up toxins, fat blobules, and lax connective tissue.

Although most people are predisposed to cellulite, anyone can get it.  Age does play a factor, so as you age you are more likely to develop cellulite due to hormonal changed and skin laxity.  Although it is much more common in women, men can also be prone it’s effects.

How Does Cellulite Develop?

Not all experts agree on exactly how cellulite develops.  Although most believe that genetics do play a role in the development of cellulite, there is no concrete proof of this.

There are however a number of points that most experts do agree on.

Sscientific studies that have proven the following contributing factors to cellulite:

  • Connective tissue strands stiffen, pulling down on certain areas
  • Fat cells cluster and are attached by collagen fibers, impeding blood flow
  • Fat cells swell due to excess storage of fat
  • Poor lymphatic drainage hinders the removal of fluids and traps it

Simply put, the combination of decreased blood flow, poor lymphatic drainage, fat storage, and changes in connective tissues all contribute to cellulite.

How You can Lose Your Cellulite

I recommend a five step approach to help lose cellulite.  Here are those five steps, in no particular order:

  1. Exercise – This is a given.  Although as mentioned earlier, exercise will not directly reduce cellulite, it will work indirectly by improving your circulation and reducing fat stores.
  2. Eat whole foods – Eating healthy, whole foods is an important part of any healthy lifestyle.  So how can it help with your cellulite?  Unhealthy foods have toxins, which can build up in the body and contribute to cellulite.  Good foods on the other hand have antioxidants in them that will help remove toxins from the body.  the less toxins you have in your body, the less of a chance of cellulite.
  3. Drink lots of water – Proper hydration will ensure that your skin and body tissue is not becoming dehydrated.  It will also ensure that you are able to remove toxins from your system.
  4. Avoid alcohol & smoking – Alcohol and cigarettes are both highly toxic and should be avoided at all costs.  Smoking in particular is very bad as it also hinders circulation and damages the skin.
  5. Weekly Cellulite Body Wraps – Cellulite body wraps with the right ingredients (particularly Bladderwack) is very effective at reducing cellulite when administered regularly.  Two sessions per week can work wonders.
