Body Wrap Formula – The Best Ingredients for Results

A body wrap formula that consists of the right ingredients can work wonders, whether your goal is to lose inches, detoxify your body, or improve the look and feel of your skin.

There are many effective ingredients that you can use in an herbal body wrap formula.  The ones that you choose will depend on the actual goals you are trying to achieve.

Below is a list of the most powerful ingredients that can be used in a body wrap formula.  Try to experiment with each of these ingredients and figure out which ones work best for your bode.

Top Body Wrap Formula Ingredients

Below are what I consider five very powerful body wrap formula ingredients.  They are all easy to find at local health food stores or online.

  1. Bladderwrack – This is a type of algae that is highly nutritious and is particularly beneficial to the skin.  If the main goal of your body wrap formula is to improve the skin or reduce the appearance of cellulite, then this this ingredient is a must.
  2. Echinacia – A powerful herb well know for it’s ability to boost the body’s immune system.  It also helps improve circulation, stimulates the lymph glands, and is has strong detoxifying properties.  This is an excellent herb to use in weight loss body wrap formulas.
  3. Ginger – Excellent healing properties, helps reduce joint and muscle pain.
  4. Red Clover – A strong blood purifier, excellent for body detoxification.
  5. Kelp – This powerful seaweed helps accelerate weight loss, ease joint and muscle pain and soften the skin.  Perhaps one of the most versatile body wrap formula ingredients around.
Those are just a handful of very powerful herbs that can be added to your body wrapping formula.  In addition to these herbs, I also highly recommend these ingredients:
  • Aloe Vera - Has very strong detoxifying properties and is one of the best herbs to help soften the skin.  Aloe also helps increase the absorption of other nutrients into the skin.  Aloe Vera is the preferred base of a skin or detoxifying wrap.
  • Sea or mineral salt – High in minerals and iodine, has benefits similar to kelp and other seaweeds.  Well recognized for it’s ability to remove toxins from the body.
I highly recommend that you experiment with some of these herbal ingredients in your next body wrap formula!

Cellulite Body Wrap – What is it?

If you are having trouble reducing the appearance of your cellulite, then you may want to consider trying a homemade cellulite body wrap kit. If you’ve read other posts on my blog you already know that body wraps containing the right ingredients have many benefits, and improving the appearance of cellulite is one of them.

Although cellulite cannot be “removed”, with the right treatment you can make it appear as if it is no longer exists.  Although you will technically always have cellulite, you will not be able to see it.

Here is an example of before and after pictures of a cellulite body wrap using one of the recipes in my ebook:  “Wrap Yourself Slim:  Body Wraps Exposed”

After your cellulite body wrap you will notice that the skin not only feels tigher, but it will also appear much smoother as demonstrated in the above picture.

*Note that the above results were achieve after multiple treatments.  It may take up to 5 wraps before you begin to see results.

How to Perform a Cellulite Body Wrap at Home

A cellulite body wrap is like any other type of home body wrap, and involves the following steps:

  1. Lightly brush your skin to exfoliate it
  2. A liquid or mud based formula is applied to the skin (usually on the thighs or upper arms)
  3. Apply heated ace bandages by wrapping them around your skin
  4. Leave bandages on for at least 45 – 60 minutes
  5. Remove bandages and take a warm shower to remove formula and open the skin pores
  6. Apply post body wrap lotion & anti-cellulite cream

Many people do not exfoliate their skin before applying the cellulite wrap formula to their skin, and this is a big mistake.  Exfoliating the skin is what prepares it for the wrap and enables it to absorb the most nutrients from the formula.

What Makes an Effective Cellulite Wrap?

The key to a really effective cellulite body wrap is the ingredients.  One of the more particularly powerful ingredients to help reduce the appearance of cellulite is Bladderwack which really helps improve the circulation in trouble areas. for this reason I always recommend that this be added to your cellulite body wrap formula.

Want to try a cellulite body wrap?  You can get body wraps at the spa and request special ingredients, however, I recommend that you try your own cellulite wrap at home.  It’s simple to perform, and only takes a little initial preparation.  The best part is the cost saving can be huge ($5 per wrap compared to $50 at the spa).

How to Lose Body Weight

If you are trying to figure out how to lose body weight, then please read this article carefully! I’d say that 90% of the people that try to lose body weight take the wrong approach-and if you take this route it will cost your unnecessary time, money and stress.  Simply by education yourself before beginning your weight loss plan, the odds that you will succeed are in your favor!

The good & bad news about how to lose body weight

The good news is, that losing significant amounts of body weight can be relatively easy – if you go about it in the right manor.  The bad news is that once you’ve lost the body weight, the hardest challenge may still lie ahead.

It seems as if the hardest part for most people isn’t losing the initial body weight, it’s keeping that body weight off!  This is because most people forget that in order to keep the body weight off, it’s crucial to incorporate a complete lifestyle change.  You can’t simply go on a diet, lose the body weight and go back to eating poorly and living the same type of lifestyle that was responsible for your weight gain in the first place.

So with that being said, I am going to share some straight forward tips that will will ensure that you lose body weight in a fast and healthy manor.

Simple Steps to Losing Body Weight

When I comes to body weight loss, I’ve found that taking a simple, straightforward approach works best.  Let’s be honest… science doesn’t lie.  By following simple scientifically proven methods you will lose weight.

Step #1 – Cardiovascular exercise & resistance training

Most people realize that more cardiovascular exercise is a must when it comes to losing body weight.  Resistance training is often neglected however.  You see, resistance training will help you preserve your lean body mass while you are on your diet.

Without resistance training your body will naturally lose some of this lean body mass, which will decrease the rate at which you burn calories-making losing body weight even more difficult.

Here are some simple exercise tips that will help you get started on a weight loss plan that works:

  • Aim for at least four days of cardiovascular exercise, and two days of resistance exercise each week.
  • Track all aspects of your exercise routine carefully.
  • Start slow and gradually increase exercise volume and intensity over time to avoid over training.
  • Get help from a personal trainer or expert before you begin your program!

Step #2 – A calorie restricted nutritious diet

Well this one may be a given, but it seems like lots of people do something wrong here.  Not only do you have to eat a “clean” diet, but you also have to eat less calories than your body burns each day.  For example, if your body burns approximately 2000 calories daily, you should eat around 1700 or 1800 calories each day in order to maximize fat loss.

If you don’t eat less calories than you burn each day, losing weight will literally be impossible!

Here are some more diet tips:

  • Estimate your RMR (resting metabolic rate) and eat about 200-300 calories under that each day.
  • Eat plenty of quality protein and limit simple carbohydrates from your diet.
  • Don’t be afraid of fat-you need it in moderation.  Aim for plant oils like olive, flax etc.
  • Aim for 5-6 small meals each day versus three large meals.  This will boost your metabolism.
  • Track your diet carefully including the foods you eat, number of calories etc!

Step #3 – Weekly body wrap sessions

If you haven’t already figured it out, I am a big fan of body wraps.  They have worked for me, my friends, and thousands of readers of my ebook.  Simply put, body wraps combined with a healthy diet and exercise will dramatically accelerate weight loss.

Here are some helpful body wrap tips:

  • Aim for two weight loss body wraps each week.
  • Experiment with your recipes for best results.
  • Use clays as well as herbal ingredients like green tea and echinacha.

I recommend home body wraps versus spa body wraps, because the are so much cheaper and allow you to customize the ingredients of the wrapping formula.

DIY Body Wrap – The Benefits

As the economy continues to weaken, people are becoming more frugal.  Unfortunately a weekly spa body wrap may no longer fit into the budget.  Let’s be honest… $50-$100 per session isn’t cheap, and in order to really take advantage of the benefits of a body wrap, you need at least two wrapping sessions weekly.

If you’re like me though, you aren’t willing to give up that easily.  If you love body wraps, then there is only one answer:

DIY body wraps!

A DIY body wrap (AKA Do-it-yourself body wrap) is great way to enjoy the benefits of a spa body wrap, without paying the high price.  And cost aside, there are a number of other benefits of a DIY body wrap, which I will outline below:

Benefits of a DIY Body Wrap

There are a number of advantages of DIY body wraps when compared to spa body wraps.

  • Cost – This is the most obvious advantage.  Home body wraps cost between $5-$10 per wrap compared to $50-$100 at the spa.  This means that you can perform up to 10  body wraps for the cost of one spa body wrap-plenty more bang for your buck!
  • Ingredients – When it comes to body wrap ingredients, the big benefit in a DIY body wrap is that you know exactly what ingredients are in your wrap formula, and can add specific ingredients that will improve results.  I always recommend using organic all natural ingredients.
  • Convenience & time – Although wrapping your own body may not be as convenient as having someone at the spa apply it, the fact that you can perform the wrap at any time in the comfort of your home is a huge bonus.  This will also save you lots of time since you will not have to commute to and from the spa.
Don’t get overwhelmed by the whole DIY body wrapping process.  It’s really quite simple…

How do I Perform a DIY Body Wrap?

A DIY body wrap is easy.  You can perform your own DIY wrap by following the following these steps:
  1. Prepare your skin by exfoliating with a dry brush and applying a pre-wrap formula.
  2. Mix your body wrap formula and apply to skin.
  3. Apply your pre soaked wrapping cloths to your body.
  4. Sit for at least an hour after the wrapping cloths have been applied
  5. Remove wrapping cloth, shower, and apply a post-wrap formula to your skin.

And that’s really it!  As you can see a DIY body wrap is simple, and I promise you that it works.

Clay Body Wrap – How Does it Work?

As you are probably aware by now, there are many different types of body wraps.  A clay body wrap (also know as a mineral wrap) is a very popular type of body wrap because it is very effective when it comes to inch loss.

Now the clay body wrap precess really isn’t any different than an herbal wrap, seaweed wrap, or aloe-vera wrap.  The main difference is simply that the core ingredient in the clay wrap is clay!

There actually a number of different types of clay used in body wraps.

Here is more information about clay used in body wraps.

The Clay Body Wrap Procedure

A clay body wrap is a two step process, like all other body wraps except those that are liquid based.  this two step process (absorption and compaction) are what make clay wraps far superior to liquid wraps when it comes to inch loss.

Step #1

Exfoliate your skin and apply a pre-body wrap solution.

Step #2

First, apply the sea clay to your entire body, or the areas that you are treating.  Apply the mud generously, but make sure it is not clumpy or thick in areas.

Step #3

Apply the wrapping cloths to your body.  Make sure the cloths are very warm.  This will help open the pores allowing your skin to absorb the clay.

Step #4

Leave the wraps on your body for about an hour.  Remove in the shower or bath and rinse.  Once clean, apply a post body wrap solution to your skin.

How Do Clay Body Wraps Work?

So you are probably wondering how a clay body wrap works.  Simply put, the clay helps absorb fluid based toxins that are held between the cells.  Once these fluids are removed, the pressure from the wrapping bandages helps squeeze the tissue and compact the pockets where the excess fluid once was.  The body then starts to reconnect these pockets so that they no loger exist.

Clay body wraps are the best types of wraps because they have the highest absorption properties of the different types of body wrap formulas.

If you have never tried a clay body wrap, I highly suggest you do, especially if your goal is to  lose inches.

Mineral Wraps – All You Need to Know

If your goal is maximum inch loss, then you have to try a mineral wrap.  There are plenty of different types of body wraps available, but when it comes to inch loss, a mineral wrap I usually recommend a mineral wrap.

A mineral wrap is just like any other body wrap, but the ingredients of it’s formula contain mostly minerals that penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin.

Unlike the other forms of body wraps, mineral wraps usually come in dry formula that you add water to.  For this reason many people prefer these types of wraps to mud body wraps or Aloe Vera body wraps since the entire process is much less messy.

The majority of mineral wrap formulas contain the following base ingredients:

  • Dry clay (usually Bentonite)
  • Magnesium
  • Sodium
  • Zinc
  • Potassium

The Bentonite clay along with these minerals are what really contribute to major inch loss throughout the body.

How Many Inches Can I Lose with a Mineral Wrap?

The number of inches you can lose with mineral wraps depends on many factors – mostly the size you are before you begin your wrap, and the number of wrapping sessions you plan on performing.

Generally speaking, most people will lose between 6-30 inches off of their entire body after one to five wrapping sessions.  I know these are fairly broad ranges, but as I had mentioned there are quite a few factors that determine how many inches you will actually lose after your wraps.

Some people lose significant inches after only one wrap, while it takes other people more wraps to see those results.  This is one of the reasons I recommend that people not only try different body wrap recipes, but that they also perform at least 10 wrapping sessions.

Where to Get Mineral Body Wraps

Like all body wraps, you have two options in terms of wher you can get mineral wraps.  Those two options are:

  1. Spa or Body wrap shop – If cost is not an issue, then the obvious choice for a mineral wrap would be the spa or a facility that specializes in body wraps.  The spa may call mineral wraps a different name such as a European body wrap or beauty wrap.
  2. Home mineral wraps – If you would like to save some money, then you can try a home mineral wrap.  All you will need is the supplies such as ace bandages, and a mineral wrap recipe.  All of the body wrap supplies can be purchased online.

The big advantage to a home mineral wrap is that it is about 80% less expensive than a spa mineral wrap, so you can perform them two or three times weekly for a relatively low cost.

Spa Body Wraps – Be Prepared Before Stepping Foot In The Spa

If you are considering a spa body wrap treatment but are not sure what is involved, then read on.  I am about to explain the entire spa body wrapping process to you so you know exactly what to expect.

What Happens During a Spa Body Wrap?

Spa bod wraps usually begin with exfoliation of the skin using a dry brush or salt scrub.  The exfoliation process helps open the pores of the skin, maximizing the effects of the formula that will soon be applied to your skin.

Once you have exfoliated your skin, the esthetician will beging to apply the body wrapping formula to your body.  If you are getting a full body wrap, they will usually start at your feet at work their way upwards towards your neck.  The type of formula that will be used varies, but is usually one of the following: [Read more...]
